General Information

Before consuming cannabis, it’s important to understand its effects and potential health risks. Generally speaking, cannabis is known to impair your memory, concentration, coordination, and learning and problem solving abilities. This is true for everyone, but it’s especially harmful for adolescents and young children and their developing brains.

DCR recommends that parents prepare themselves for the possibility that their children will try cannabis and proactively speak with them about the dangers of early cannabis use. For tips on speaking with children of all ages, click here
