Since September 2021, the Department of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) has been working with the City Council to amend Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 104.00 et seq. (Cannabis Procedures Ordinance). The most recent proposal provides application process timelines, revises definitions, creates a refiling process for Applicants, and clarifies the process for Phase 3 Retail Round 2.  

In accordance with Council instruction, the Office of the City Attorney transmitted the draft ordinance on March 15, 2022 which reflects these amendments. In addition, DCR has also updated the Rules and Regulations to support and provide further clarity to the licensing processes and operational requirements. The updated Rules and Regulations will be posted in the Council File found  here. The draft ordinance will be scheduled for City Council review and adoption soon.
