The SEED Rental Assistance Grant Application closed at 11:59pm PST on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

In April of 2021, the City of Los Angeles established the Social Equity Entrepreneur Development Grant Program (SEED) Grant Program). The Rules and Regulations for the SEED Grant Program can be found here. The SEED Grant Program utilizes funding from the Cannabis Equity Grant for Local Jurisdictions (CEG Grant) to provide financial assistance to verified Social Equity Individual Applicants. To date, the City of Los Angeles has dedicated $11 million towards the SEED Grant Program through funds made available through the 2019,  2020, and 2022 California CEG Grant awards.

SEED Rental Assistance Grant Program 1.0 (SEED 1.0) utilizes $4 million funding from the Cannabis Equity Grant for Local Jurisdictions to provide financial assistance to verified Social Equity Individual Applicants.

Through SEED 1.0, Phase 3 Retail Round 1 (P3RR1) Social Equity Individual Applicants deemed eligible for further processing pursuant to Los Angeles Municipal Code 104.06.1(b) may be eligible to receive a rental assistance grant of up to $50,000.

SEED Rental Assistance Grant Program 2.0 (SEED 2.0) utilizes $1 million funding from the Cannabis Equity Grant for Local Jurisdictions to provide financial assistance to verified Social Equity Individual Applicants.

Through SEED 2.0, all non-P3RR1 verified Social Equity Individual Applicants may apply to receive a rental assistance grant of $10,000.
