Read on for information on what to do if you’ve been affected by Los Angeles wildfires.
As the City reels from continuing threats of fire and immeasurable losses, the Department of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) recognizes the toll that these events have taken on our licensed cannabis industry.
If your business faces an immediate wildfire threat, you do not need to contact the State’s Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) or DCR before moving cannabis and/or cannabis products to a safe location. Cannabis products must be moved to a secure location with restricted access to the licensee, the licensee’s employees, and contractors only.
Within 24 hours of moving the cannabis or cannabis products, Licensees must:
- Email DisasterRelief@cannabis.ca.gov and copy dcrlicensing@lacity.org, to notify DCC and DCR that the cannabis and/or cannabis products have been moved and provide the address of the new location.
- If requested, allow DCC, DCR, or City staff to access and inspect the location.
If your business premises is in a location which has been evacuated, even if it has not been affected by flames, please email dcrlicensing@lacity.org to alert us.
Licensees impacted by wildfires may request a temporary waiver from certain regulations under DCC’s disaster-relief authority. Questions about DCC’s disaster relief program can be emailed to info@cannabis.ca.gov or by phone at 1-844-612-2322.
